Transparent Factory Dresden - Social Media in the Fast Lane

Since 2021, we have been managing their Insta channel @vwmanufaktur_de, and have a dedicated direct line to the other side of the Elbe. We practically got a desk at the Gläserne Manufaktur Dresden, the manufacturing site of the ID.3. It’s content and community management all day long.
Let us begin at the beginning. The team at the VW production site required input and support for their Instagram channel. That’s where we came in.
We were quickly able to see the potential of the channel for the EV manufacturer. Adapted to the brand, vision and target groups of the Transparent Factory, we developed an Instagram strategy to properly push and elevate the channel and accompanying site. The #HomeofID, GMD's nickname, is virtually evolving into the #HomeofEngagement.


The content strategy: create user-centred added value through content, thus sustainably establish and build a community which also visits GMD in Dresden. From followers to visitors.

Insta-support is like driving an electric car, it just pushes you into the seat. Editorial planning, meetings, consistent content, there is something going on every day.


We all know the Insta-algorithm constantly needs fuel for its fire. It goes without saying that we also took upon content creation, as in images, videos and text. We weren’t just present at events, but even in everyday situations, so that we may capture them on camera. As a treat for the corporate image pool, we even implemented professional photo shoots.


To emphasise the “social” in social media, active community management was essential for us. After all, comments and DMs require responses, right? Our intent was to make waves in the eMobility Insta-Bubble. That's why we regularly sat at "work" with only our phones in our hands and went wild on other channels. Was it worth it, you ask? The GMD weekly reports speak for themselves, cause stats are through the roof. Our faces hurt from smiling.
Conclusion: In the first year of support, things really took off, with an increase in impressions at 171 %, fan growth at 579%, profile website clicks 228%, and DM increase at 515%. We likey! VW likey too!
