COSMOCON 2024 – Feel the Cosmoverse

COSMO CONSULT was ready for liftoff – their traditional company event was about to be reinvented from the ground up. Instead of the usual summer party, they wanted a modern corporate conference at warp speed. The mission: connect 900 international COSMOnauts, share knowledge, and launch their employer branding into a whole new galaxy. Knowledge transfer, networking, and entertainment needed to work like a perfectly synchronized starship. The new Employer Value Proposition #oneCOSMO required a format that could pull all four stakeholder groups into the Cosmoverse at once – and take employee bonding to lightspeed.

Houston, we have a mission! Co-creative development of an event concept with a guiding theme for a corporate conference in Berlin of galactic proportions. Complete event management from strategic concept to smooth landing was on our flight plan. Mission control included scenography for multiple venues, coordination of all crews, and consulting on innovative session formats designed to turn passive listeners into active space explorers. The Innovation Challenge was integrated as the central engine, with a pre-event for around 400 participants serving as the countdown. Learning and celebrating together were to become the DNA of the new COSMOCON – a hands-on event universe.

In multi-day co-creation workshops, we developed the event concept together – real teamwork instead of a solo mission. Using the “Zwicky Box” method, we created eight different guiding themes, with FEEL THE COSMOVERSE emerging as the brilliant winner. Design Futuring and Future LinkedIn Post methods expanded the vision to infinity. We coached internal speakers to develop interactive formats and organized the project team into thematic work clusters – each an expert in their part of the universe. The scenography followed an experience-driven approach with spaces opening up in stages. Instead of one-way presentations, we relied on genuine participation and dialogue – Mission Interaction: accomplished.

The result was nothing short of stellar: 975 participants instead of the planned 900 – exceeding the target by 8.3%! The multi-location event at EUREF Campus and Spindler & Klatt merged keynotes, workshops, the Innovation Challenge, and an evening celebration into a seamless event continuum. A custom COSMO song performed live brought the house down and crowned the experience. We successfully established a new format that fuses the professionalism of a conference with the thrill of a live experience – an unbeatable combination. A lasting event-DNA for future COSMOCONs was born – employee bonding and knowledge sharing on a whole new level.
