PROGRESS Financial Planner – Micdrop with Added Value

Financial topics have an image problem. Sustainable investing even more so. Progress – The financial planners wanted to change that and bring financial education out of the dry, stuffy corner. The idea was to combine the serious with the playful. Financial knowledge meets poetry slam. An edutainment format that didn’t exist in this form before – and that was precisely where its strength lay. No interminably long keynotes, no slide-show overload. Instead, a microphone, verses and genuine messages with explanations about sustainable investing that really stick.

Concept development, sponsor acquisition, on-site and online event management – we managed the entire investment package. Together with our event tech company schickschön, we made it stylish and beautiful. What’s more, smartevents wasn’t just a co-organiser; the team also livestreamed everything that was happening to the internet. Our host Ron guided us through the evening, striking a balance between financial knowledge and slam poetry energy. As the budget was tight, we drew on our strongest asset: our network. Through our contacts, we secured partners who supported the format – thereby maximising the return on a modest investment. As the initiators, this put more pressure on us to deliver than usual. Pushy.

The evening scored a massive hit in terms of enthusiasm. A full house for CROMATICS, every ticket sold on the door, and loads of positive feedback from guests who’d probably last heard about financial topics at school. It’s hard to put the evening’s ROI into figures – but a sold-out event, a thrilled audience and a genuine sense of ‘we want more’ is a return on investment that’s nothing to be sniffed at. The format has real potential. For Progress, for us and for the audience. Episode II is already marked in the calendars. Sometimes you don’t need a huge budget to make a real impact. Just an idea that no one else has had yet. Mic drop.
